OMG - We have entered the holiday shopping season!

If you haven’t already started your holiday season online advertising, don’t wait any longer. We are quickly approaching Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Pre-Christmas Deals, After-Christmas Sales, and New Year’s Savings. It's time to get your online store optimized, organized and ready to sell, sell, sell!

Here are 5 easy ways to increase your online sales this holiday season:

  1. Give your website and social media pages a festive makeover. "Decorate" your online store with holiday images and colors. Focus on holiday keywords in your content. And insure your website is optimized for mobile so pages load quickly, content is targeted, and the checkout process is simple.
  2. Emphasize fabulous customer service. Reduce response times to consumer inquiries. Offer free shipping and easy returns. Provide "wish list" technology. And give customers the ability to easily communicate with you via chat, IM or text.
  3. Leverage client testimonials and reviews to gain trust. Online customer referrals continue to be valued by consumers when looking to do business with companies. Make sure you have good reviews and star ratings on the major sites. Add positive testimonials and reviews to your website home page and share on social media.
  4. Offer attractive holiday discounts and specials. Give special deals to returning customers or first-time buyers. Create excitement with offer countdowns. Sell more with discounted product bundles. And get consumer to shop more by offer increased savings for higher sales volume.
  5. Implement customer follow up technologies. Use exit intent pop-ups to entice consumers to stay on your website. Send abandoned cart email reminders. Conduct quick online surveys about your shopping/checkout processes.

Google Ads Best Practices

Prepare Your Campaigns To Drive In-store Sales This Holiday Season

excerpt from Google Ads Best Practices email

October 20, 2020

Consumer shopping behavior will likely look different this holiday season. For example, searches containing “available near me” have grown by more than 2X across regions and categories. And with 67% of shoppers saying they plan to confirm online that an item is in stock before going to buy—it’s important to ensure your store and product information is easily accessible.

To drive sales in stores this holiday season, check out these best practices:

  • Use the Local Opportunity Finder tool to easily update your Google My Business profile. Details like your store locations, hours, and health and safety updates can show on your Business Profile on Google Search and Maps.
  • Create Local campaigns to connect with nearby customers. You can update your ads to highlight in-store availability, curbside pickup offerings, special promotions, and important business changes on a store-by-store basis.
  • Optimize your ad rotation. Save time by setting your ad rotation settings to automatically optimize for clicks or conversions. Make sure to align ad copy with your promotional calendar and use ad customizers to highlight sales.
  • If you’re measuring store visit conversions, consider using Smart Bidding for store visits. Including store visits in your Smart Bidding strategy can help you automatically account for fluctuations in online conversions and store visits.

View Recipe on Food Network

Ingredients:

12 oz. bag of fresh or frozen cranberries

1 cup sugar

orange or lemon zest

2 tbsp. water

salt and pepper

Instructions:

Empty a 12-ounce bag of fresh or frozen cranberries into a saucepan and transfer 1/2 cup to a small bowl. Add 1 cup sugar, 1 strip orange or lemon zest and 2 tablespoons water to the pan and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the cranberries are soft, about 10 minutes. Increase the heat to medium and cook until the cranberries burst, about 12 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the reserved cranberries. Add sugar, salt and pepper to taste and cool to room temperature before serving.
